Peer Health Educators
What is Peer Education?
Individuals from similar age groups or social backgrounds sharing knowledge, skills, and support.
Leverages the influence of peers to promote positive behavior change, enhance understanding, and foster a supportive community, making health information more relatable and accessible.

What to expect:
- Generalist Approach
- Regular Meetings!
- Learn about a health & wellness topic - approximately 3 topics/semester
- Skill building & experiential learning
- Volunteers vs. Student Coordinators
- Events, programming, trainings, etc. throughout the year
- Opportunities to realize ideas that are important to YOU
What’s the commitment?
- Engagement & accountability!
- Volunteers:
- Attend bi-weekly meetings
- Participate in at least one volunteer opportunity per semester
- Semester-long commitment (you can stay for longer!)
- Student Coordinators:
- Year long commitment (less this year)
- Attend weekly meetings
- Self-led project/event/idea
- Leadership/facilitator role at events/programs
- Lead trainings - Orientation, FSL, IPO, etc.
