Whether you are a current school employee ready to get your teaching license or an in-service teacher or instructional assistant desiring an add-on endorsement in special education, Linfield's special education generalist endorsement program will set you on a path to a rewarding career.

Enrolling in the graduate special education generalist endorsement

Designed with working professionals in mind, offering evening and summer options with multiple entry points and start dates! This is a graduate-level program option for licensed teachers who want to teach in elementary or secondary special education settings. Upon successful completion of the program, you will meet the requirements for a special education generalist endorsement (K-12) in Oregon.

The program features:

  • Six courses (totaling 20 credits)
  • Practicum totaling 90 hours in classrooms with students with exceptionalities across the full range of disabilities
  • Multiple start terms throughout the year 

Program cost

The cost of this program is $765 per credit.

Federal financial aid is not available for endorsement programs.

How to apply

Graduate add-on endorsement program requirements:

  • An undergraduate bachelor's degree
  • A valid teaching or administrator license

Application checklist:

  1. Submit your application
  2. A $50 application fee is due to Linfield with your application

Application deadlines:

  • Priority admission deadline for summer start: June 1
  • Priority admission deadline for fall start: August 1
  • Priority admission deadline for spring start: January 10
