Yujie Wang
Yujie Wang Assistant Professor | Computer Science

Yujie Wang is an assistant professor of computer science whose work bridges mathematics, statistics and machine learning. She earned her Ph.D. in mathematics from Claremont Graduate University and an M.S. in statistics from Florida State University. Her research focuses on statistical learning theory, natural language processing and the development of principled machine learning methods with theoretical guarantees. She has published in both top-tier computer science conferences and mathematical journals, with work spanning algorithm design, optimization and real-world data applications.
Yujie has extensive teaching experience across liberal arts colleges and adult-learning institutions, and she is deeply committed to inclusive, student-centered pedagogy. Her courses emphasize conceptual understanding, hands-on programming and connections between theory and practice. As a first-generation scholar, she is particularly dedicated to mentoring students from diverse backgrounds and supporting pathways into data science and computer science research.
