Kyle J. Putnam Associate Professor

Kyle J. Putnam joined Linfield in 2017. He teaches courses in financial management, investments, financial institutions, personal finance and advanced topics in finance. His research interests include asset pricing, in particular commodity futures and financial institutions. He embraces application-based learning and makes every effort to weave in real-life examples to his course work.
Prior to joining Linfield, Kyle was an assistant professor of finance at the Marilyn Davies College of Business at the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) where he taught undergraduate courses in investments, business finance and personal finance, as well as graduate courses in corporate finance, investments, financial forecasting, behavioral finance and financial management.

Academic interests:
Kyle's research interests include commodity futures, asset pricing and financial institutions. His current work focuses on the effects of financialization of the commodity markets beginning in the mid-2000s.
