Leslie joins Linfield as a new member of the supervisor team this year and has been working in education since 2015. She comes from a background as a classroom teacher (3rd and 5th grades) and an instructional coach in Title 1 schools in the Denver, Colorado area. From teaching students with a wide range of backgrounds, she built a solid foundation of giving an equitable education for all.

Leslie got her master's degree from the University of Denver in educational leadership and policy studies, with a focus on culturally responsive leadership. During that time, she researched the social and emotional well-being of students of color and how teacher and student relationships affected the time students spent in class.

Leslie is passionate about teaching reading and is currently employed with McMinnville School District as a reading interventionist. Through this, a passion for the science of reading and instructing students in a specific and systematic way has been her focus this year.
