Linfield students, faculty prepare spring choir concert

Linfield College choirLinfield College will host a spring choir concert on Sunday, May 14, at 4 p.m. in the Richard and Lucille Ice Auditorium in Melrose Hall at Linfield.

The Linfield Concert Choir, the Wildcats Men’s Glee Club and the Women’s Vocal Ensemble will present a special Mother’s Day program showcasing an eclectic mix of music from the Beatles and Les Miserables, to the St. Nicholas Mass by F.J. Haydn. Students, faculty and guest soloists, as well as a full chamber orchestra, will be featured. The groups are directed by Anna Song, associate professor of music.

The Linfield College Concert Choir is the premier choral organization at Linfield. As the first such ensemble in the Pacific Northwest, this select group has toured annually since its formation in 1930 performing throughout the western United States, Canada, Europe, New Zealand, Australia, China, Southeast Asia and Costa Rica.

The Wildcat Men’s Glee Club and Women’s Vocal Ensemble offer students and staff from across campus and the community the opportunity to sing and perform a wide variety of literature written for male and female voices throughout the year and occasionally combine to perform repertoire for mixed voices.
