DEBATE: A debate examining the issues surrounding same-sex marriage, “Should Oregon Law Recognize Same-Sex Marriage?” will be held Monday, Nov. 26, at 7:30 p.m. in the Richard and Lucille Ice Auditorium in Melrose Hall at Linfield College. The debate, which will feature Pamela Karlan of Stanford Law School and Justin Dyer of the University of Missouri, is free and open to the public, and sponsored by the Frederick Douglass Forum on Law, Rights and Justice. SPORT MANAGEMENT TALK: Joan Forry, visiting assistant professor of philosophy at Linfield College, will present “Against Animals as Sports Team Mascots,” Thursday, Nov. 29, at 7 p.m. in 219 T.J. CHAMBER ORCHESTRA: The Linfield Chamber Orchestra will perform with Linfield College professor Anton Belov on Sunday, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m. in the Richard and Lucille Ice Auditorium in Melrose Hall at Linfield College. CANDLELIGHT SERVICE: Linfield College will host the annual Christmas candlelight service Sunday, Dec. 2, at 7:30 p.m. in Delkin Recital Hall in the Vivian A. Bull Music Center at Linfield.
