Linfield student to discuss year abroad in Korea

Linfield CollegeThe issues of human trafficking, education, suicide and family structures in Korea will be discussed during a student presentation by Dana Hellie, a junior at Linfield College.

“The Real Korea” will be presented Tuesday, March 5, at 3 p.m. in Jonasson Hall, lower level of Melrose Hall, at Linfield.

Hellie, a political science major from Mountlake Terrace, Wash., will present her year-long experience studying abroad in Korea and her encounters with the social issues that haunt the Korean society. She will discuss topics such as the presence of bullying in educational settings, the culture of North Korea and the country’s high suicide rates.
