Jobs for Students

Student employment opportunities

Linfield Libraries hires more than 70 students every year, and we would love for you to join us! We need student help in several areas:

Circulation

You’re a people person, but you also wish you had a little more time for reading. Sitting at Nicholson Library’s front desk, you’ll enjoy greeting and helping the students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members who visit the library, while getting familiar with our collection. Help us keep all the study rooms clean and organized, check out and shelve books, answer phones, and get to know our regulars. And in the slow moments, you'll have time to pick up a book of your own. Weekend and night coverage is required. Applications typically open at the beginning of each term.

Educational Media Services (EMS)

You adore tech, wonder what it takes to produce an event, and would love working in a room full of fancy equipment. Learn from the best as you help with A/V setup and support at almost every event at Linfield. Ride in one of those campus golf carts to deliver items and tech support to classrooms and meetings. Weekend and night coverage is required.

Collections Management

As someone who's detail-oriented and loves a good procedure, you prefer staying behind the scenes and understanding how everything works. In Collections Management, you will receive and prepare books and publications to enter Linfield's collections. Using both hands-on and computer work, we will show you all the inner workings of a library, from entering information into a database to sticking a label on a volume's spine (sticker fun!). With such proximity to the library's new materials, you'll have first dibs on everything new to the collection. Plus, the secret back room in the library always has candy.

Applications typically open at the beginning of each term. No evening/weekend hours. Summer work available.
