Olga has taught Spanish from middle school to university level in Ohio, Kentucky and Oregon, as well as high school social studies in Oregon. In addition, she has taught ESOL in Spain, and math, social studies, science and language arts GED classes in Oregon. Olga also has many years of experience as a professional translator and interpreter. She is very interested in bilingualism, language acquisition, the multicultural classroom and the role of effective communication with students and parents to build strong partnerships and foster academic success. Olga is an advocate for underserved and marginalized students, striving for equity and inclusion in the diverse classroom. She teaches the Spanish Teaching Methods (EDUC 430) course. Olga will be supervising secondary student teachers.
