Welcome to Linfield College! 

As a new student at Linfield College, we are excited to welcome you to campus for the Fall 2019 semester. We are committed to providing resources and assistance that will help you transition into the Linfield College experience. Course schedules, full academic calendars, finals schedules, and other academic information can be found by visiting the Registrar web pages. Details about housing and arrival schedules can be found on the Residence Life web pages.

Following is an overview of New Student Orientation activities, which will continue to be updated throughout the summer. Attendance at 2019 New Student Orientation is required for all new students.

Welcome to Linfield College! We are so glad that you’re here. Join other new students and families as we officially welcome you to the college and give an overview of the orientation schedule.

Orientation Group Meeting #1

Meet your Orientation Leader and the other students in your Orientation Group. Students will also learn more about orientation and the beginning of the school year. See your Check-In folder for your Group's meeting location.

Orientation Group meetings are a chance to meet with your Orientation Leader, ask questions of them, and get to know Linfield better. Orientation Group Meeting locations will vary, and your Orientation Leader will always let you know where the next meeting will be. However, it is best to check in with your Orientation Leader if you are unsure of the next meeting’s location. Orientation Groups meet throughout Orientation and every Monday evening throughout fall semester. These meetings are required for all students enrolled in a COLL class, and are optional for transfer students not enrolled in a COLL class.

Opening Convocation

New students will be joined by faculty, staff, and President Miles Davis at their formal induction to Linfield College. Opening Convocation is the beginning of the academic year, and includes the tradition of the Linfield acorn where you will get an acorn that you can return during the commencement ceremony.

Orientation Group Meeting #3, CATS, or Language Placement Testing 

Your Orientation Leader will provide more information about Orientation Group Meetings in August.

Consent Awareness Training Squad or CATS is a peer health education group that focuses on providing information and tools to increase awareness about sexual assault, ways to become an active bystander, alcohol misuse, and educate the campus community on how to develop healthy relationships.

Orientation Groups will have their CATS (Consent Awareness Training Squad) training in this time slot or the afternoon slot. Orientation Leaders will guide groups where they need to be. Students will know if they need to attend ELCP or GLSC language placement testing and will be invited to participate.

Orientation Groups that have CATS training (Consent Awareness Training Squad) will have a group meeting in the next allotted time [2:00pm-4:00pm].

Smak Dabs Gourmet Stuffed Burgers and Ricky's Tacos, two local food trucks, will be in the Pioneer Parking lot during this time as well.
