Community Engagement at Linfield University promotes student learning, development, and civic responsibility through co-curricular and curricular service opportunities.
Our office supports students on their journey toward civic engagement by maintaining partnerships with over 100 community-based organizations; offering community service consultation to individual students, groups, and faculty; and sponsoring numerous Community Service programs and events.
In fulfillment of the mission of Linfield University, “Connecting Learning, Life, and Community,” we aim to:
- Connect Linfield students as members of the campus, community, and global society
- Bridge students’ theoretical and practical knowledge through experiential learning opportunities
- Foster critical thinking, problem solving, and multicultural competencies, and
- Empower students to become engaged citizens and agents of social and environmental change
Give to Alternative Spring Break 2020
Visit our Campaign Page to help support the students in the 2020 Alternative Spring Break program.
Alternative Spring Break gives students the opportunity to give back to communities by learning about different social issues and then spending time in an area making a difference. Students pay to participate in these trips, but without fundraising many of them would not be able to afford the experience. This year, we have three different trips available to our students: Oaxaca, Mexico; Oakland, California; and a trip to all five national parks in Utah.
