Gender Inclusive Housing
Gender Inclusive Housing Philosophy
Residence Life strives to foster inclusive and supportive living environments for all students. Within such environments, students are enabled to engage in thought-provoking discussions that are based in mutual respect. Like all housing at Linfield, gender inclusive housing provides an atmosphere to cultivate students' academic success, cultural relevance, and sense of wellbeing.
- Gender Inclusive Room/Apartment – A residence hall room or apartment with roommates determined without regard to biological sex or gender identity. This option is available in Memorial Hall and the college owned apartments. Memorial Hall and college owned apartments have private gender-neutral bathrooms.
- Gender Neutral Bathrooms - A private bathroom with locking outer door available in designated buildings throughout campus to be used by members of the community without regard to biological sex or gender identity.
- Gender Inclusive Bathroom (not available at Linfield at this time) – A common area bathroom open to all users regardless of biological sex or gender identity. Private stalls, with partitions going nearly to the floor and ceiling, will enclose toilets, urinals, and showers with individual changing areas.

Linfield Multicultural Programs
Multicultural Programs functions as a catalyst and facilitator forging links among students, faculty, staff and the community. This is accomplished through individual student advising and programs that are inclusive of students, staff, and faculty. The Multicultural programs office provides support and advice for several programs planned and sponsored by various multicultural student clubs.
Fusion is Linfield's Queer Student Union (QSU). First and foremost, the purpose of Fusion is to provide a safe space for students to talk and learn about sexuality and gender with a focus on the LGBTQA+ social climates at Linfield and globally. The club organizes events to raise awareness and acceptance of LGBTQA+ identities as well as events to celebrate those identities. As a QSU, Fusion also serves as a platform for creating a more inclusive campus climate at Linfield. Fusion is open to all those interested and willing to return the respect with which they will be treated (allies welcome!) and promotes campus unity through a celebration of diversity!
Students Advocating for Gender Equality (SAGE)
Students Advocating for Gender Equality (SAGE) actively works toward gender equality both at Linfield College and in the greater community. To achieve this mission, SAGE will participate in various campaigns and hold events and informational meetings to raise awareness about gender related topics. SAGE is also committed to working to ensure all genders are represented at Linfield College and given the same access to resources as all other Linfield College students. SAGE realizes that more than two binary genders exist and will not pressure gender-variant students to conform to a binary gender assignment. SAGE also understands that gender roles are flexible and will not pressure students to conform to traditional gender roles.
