11/29/2007 Linfield students exhibit artwork

McMINNVILLE – Linfield College art students will exhibit their work in a biennial show, "Defying Expectations," at Linfield.

The exhibit will run Dec. 5 through Jan. 31 in the Linfield College Fine Art Gallery located in the James F. Miller Fine Arts Center at Linfield. An artists' reception and end of semester celebration will be held Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 6 p.m. in the gallery.

Guest curator for the show is MK Guth, chair for the master's of fine arts in visual studies program at Pacific Northwest College of Art. Guth will exhibit in the 2008 Whitney Biennial in New York City in March.

Student exhibitors include Aaron Cody, Ryan Gerdes, Keenan Havens, Laura Hunt, Nicholas Jauregui, Laura Johnson, Sarah Lainski, Alia Moore, Clair Ratto, Joe Robinson, Lindsay Thordarson and Matt Worthy.

The Linfield exhibit is free and open to the public. The Linfield Fine Art Gallery is open noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The gallery will be closed Dec. 21 through Jan. 2 and open by appointment Jan. 3-31. To reach the gallery from 99W, turn east on Keck Drive at the McMinnville Market Center in south McMinnville. Turn right at the first street onto Library Court. The art gallery is located in the second building on the left, Building B.
