11/8/2007 Linfield Thanksgiving service planned

McMINNVILLE – The annual Linfield College Thanksgiving service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the Richard and Lucille Ice Auditorium in Melrose Hall at Linfield.

The service, sponsored by the Chaplain's Office, is open to the public.

Paul Adams, minister of spiritual formation at McMinnville Cooperative Ministries, will present "Do Not Worry" based on Matthew 6:25-34. Adams is a 2002 Linfield graduate, where he received a bachelor of arts degree in music theory and composition. After working for several years as a professional jazz musician, Adams earned a master of arts degree in ministry in daily life from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minn., in 2007. He currently serves as a consultant for the Saturday evening contemplative worship series sponsored by the Linfield College Chaplain’s Office.

Linfield students will present various readings. Special music will be provided by Holding Out, a band featuring Linfield graduates Scott Brockett '05, Jen Brockett '05, Dave Cramer '05, Kelly Bechtell '06 and Casey Frantum '07. Following the Thanksgiving service, the group will present a short concert, also in Ice Auditorium.
