4/21/2003 Visiting professor from Mexico City to speak at Linfield

McMINNVILLE – Robert Bye, ethnobotanist with the Jardín Botánico, Instituto de Biología, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in Mexico City, will present a lecture on Wednesday, April 23, at 7:30 p.m. in Jonasson Hall at Linfield College.

Bye will present "Values of Biological Diversity: A Mexican Experience of Implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity." The event is sponsored by the Linfield Departments of Biology and Sociology/Anthropology, and the Cheahmill Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Oregon. It is free and open to the public.

Bye will also speak at the Linfield College SOAN Table on Thursday, April 24, at noon in the Dillin Hall Northwest Alcove. Bye will spend three days on the Linfield campus discussing biodiversity issues with Linfield students in Latin American studies, environmental studies and biology classes.
