5/7/2009 Linfield art students showcase work in two exhibits

"Tangent," on exhibit now through Saturday, May 30, in the Studio Gallery in the James F. Miller Fine Arts Center, features the portfolio work of four Linfield art students – sophomore Meghan Meehan; juniors Joy Nelson and Matt Statz; and senior Alex Maxson.

"Echo," a senior thesis exhibit, will show May 13-30 in the Fine Art Gallery. The exhibit features the work of Zach Mitlas, Ryan Gerdes, Laura Johnson and Joe Robinson.

An opening reception for both exhibits will be held Wednesday, May 13, at 6 p.m. in the gallery. Students will give brief statements about their work.

The Linfield exhibit is free and open to the public. The Linfield Fine Art Gallery is open noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. To reach the gallery from 99W, turn east on Keck Drive at the McMinnville Market Center in south McMinnville. Turn right at the first street onto Library Court. The art gallery is located in the second building on the left, Building B. Parking is available on the street and in the lot west of Nicholson Library.
