Fall 2019 Matriculation
Frequently Asked Questions
1. When will I know my class schedule?
2. What if I still have questions about financial aid?
3. When is New Student Orientation and can I bring guests?
A mandatory on-campus orientation will take place on Friday, August 23, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Because of our limited campus space, guests are discouraged from attending orientation day with students. All information about new student orientation will be sent to Linfield email accounts.
4. Where do I park when visiting campus? What about public transportation and bike parking?
Street parking at Linfield College - Portland Campus is limited to metered parking and nearby four hour parking spots. Please consider carpooling, biking or using public transportation. Information about City of Portland parking around campus can be found here. The campus is on the Portland Streetcar line and close to numerous Trimet bus lines. Several bike parking spots are also available outside of Loveridge and Peterson Halls as well as in an indoor bike storage room in the basement of Loveridge Hall. Student Life sells discounted Trimet tickets for those who wish to utilize public transportation!
5. When and where do I wear my scrubs?
Beginning your first day of lab work on campus, you will need to wear your navy blue scrubs and closed-toed shoes in every lab class. Once you begin off-campus clinical site work, you will also need to wear navy blue scrubs with closed-toed shoes to each day of clinical. Students may choose to wear navy blue and/or white scrubs. The strong majority of students purchase two sets of navy scrubs. A Linfield College patch must be sewn on the left sleeve of each scrub or uniform top. Patches are available at the campus bookstore and are around $4 each. Many students purchase their scrubs at local uniform shops such as Scrubs NW and Life Uniforms. Make sure to ask if they give a discount to nursing students! Scrubs should have a lot of pockets and must fit properly for bending over, squatting, lifting, etc. Make sure to try on scrubs and perform all these actions to find the best fit for you. Please take a look at the Linfield-Good Samaritan School of Nursing Personal Appearance Policy to help with your purchases.

There are a couple of ways. Start by checking out the online Portland Campus Calendar. It will have all campus events listed by date. Next get acquainted with your student government, The Associated Students of Linfield College - Portland Campus (ASLC-PC). Student Government sponsors a number of campus clubs and organizations.
