Applying to the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)

Linfield is now accepting applications to the MSN program through NursingCAS for the September 2020 start term.  (The application for Spring term will be open soon.)  Please review the information below before starting your application.  To apply, you will need to create a NursingCAS account, search for Linfield and add the MSN program to your list.  

Application deadlines:

  • Priority admission deadline for September 2020 start: First Monday in August
  • Priority admission deadline for March 2021 start: Third Monday in February

MSN admission requirements:

  • 3.0 GPA in BSN courses
  • Unencumbered RN license in the state where clinical experiences will occur
  • Conditional admittance for BSN graduates awaiting NCLEX

Application checklist:

  1. Submit application through NursingCAS
  2. Two Evaluations based on the Likert scale (submitted through NursingCAS
  3. Include resume or professional CV in NursingCAS
  4. Submit all official transcripts (one must show receipt of your BSN) in NursingCAS. Students with international credentials will need to submit a translated credential evaluation (from one of these agencies) with their admission application
  5. Respond to the following personal statement in your NursingCAS application: “Why do I want to attain an MSN in Leadership in Healthcare Ecosystems at Linfield?” Limit your response to 300 words
  6. Applicants must pay a $50 application fee to NursingCAS and a $50 supplemental application fee to Linfield
  7. International students: Applicants who are non-native English speakers will be required to show evidence of English proficiency prior to admission. Students who present TOEFL scores of 550 and above (paper-based exam) or 213 and above (computer-based exam)
