1950-59 David G. Lum ’52 of Astoria received an honorary Associate of Applied Science degree from Clatsop Community College in June. Following a brief time as a high school teacher and coach and a stint in the insurance business, Lum returned to Astoria with his family and founded Toyota of Astoria. Billie (Rochelle) Fitch ’57 of nordland, Wash., was named Gardener of the Year by the state garden club. 1960-69 Peter C. Dengenis ’64 of Seattle, Wash., recently published his family’s history dating back to when his grandparents immigrated from Europe. 1970-79 Harold Tu ’71 of Omaha, neb., was named the director of the division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Minnesota School of dentistry. Stephen Rooney ’74 of Bend was elected president of the national Federation of nurses, a national union representing registered nurses in Oregon, Washington, Montana and Ohio. Janine Sarti ’78 of Poway, Calif., joined the Board of the California Western Law School. She was the keynote speaker for the June luncheon of the Lawyers Club of San diego. Justin Fossum ’95 of Aloha is an Epic credentialed electronic medical record trainer for pharmacists at Providence Health and Services Hospital. He also has credentials in training Providence physicians on the ambulatory application and continues to train physicians, nurse practitioners and physician’s assistants on the dragon voice recognition dictation tool. Becky (Anderson) Owens ’95 and Kerry (Van Wyngarden) Hinrichs ’96, both of Lake Oswego, have co-founded Milestone Events LLC, focusing on event planning for weddings, anniversaries and retirement parties as well as marketing a brand around a related business or venue. Darcie Lamott-Waage ’97 of Portland was named the 2013-14 MPi Oregon Mentor of the Year. Scott and Leah (Caine) Bannon ’97 and ’07 have moved to Cheyenne, Wyo. Lyndsay (Adair) McGrath ’99 of Lake Oswego was appointed to a three-year term on the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists. Matt and Kate (Lamont) Vance, both ’99, of Lake Oswego had a son, Mark Henry, their third. 2000-09 Edward Carlisle ’01 of dundee received a master of arts in strategic leadership with an emphasis in ministry from LiFE Pacific College. Trish (Wilder) Tierney ’01 of Port Orchard, Wash., is a supervisor and program manager for Kitsap Community resources. She was appointed as a city planning commissioner, serves as vice president of Kitsap Young Professionals and is an ambassador for the Port Orchard Chamber of Commerce. Tyler and Pamela (Ball) Spurgeon, both ’01, of Woodburn had a daughter, Piper rose, July 30, their third. Miriam (Krueger) Schmidt ’01 of redmond and her husband, Jeffrey, had a son, Evan William, dec. 4. Laura (Eddy) Carpino ’06 of Pasco, Wash., and her husband, Grant, had a daughter, Lillian Alex, May 15. She is an exercise physiologist and health coach at HPMC Occupational Medical Services. Caitlin Hofmeister ’07 of Missoula, Mont., is the editor and producer of a short film, 20/Nothing, for POV on PBS. Amber Nobe and Jason Little, both ’07, were married Aug. 2. They live in Portland. Patricia Everett ’07 of Bainbridge island, Wash., married david Kabut. They are living in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, while she completes her Ph.d. at the University of British Columbia. Julia Back ’07 was her maid of honor. Casey Frantum ’07 and Renata Tirta ’09 were married Aug. 30. Brian Petermeyer of Portland and Laura Strahan, both ’09, were married June 14. They live in Seattle, Wash. Heather Burk ’09 and Michael Nelson ’10 were married nov. 2, 2013. They live in north Albany where she is the director of business development and recruiting and he is a tax supervisor, both at a local accounting firm. Thomas Ryan ’09 of Salt Lake City, Utah, owner of Tommy Blades Creative, produces snapback and five panel hats. He plans to expand into other types of clothing. Lizzie Martinez ’09 of Portland is the director of development and communications at the Latino network. 2010-14 Jason Kintz ’10 of Silverton and Laura Ekstrom ’12 of Sheridan were married July 26. She is a first grade teacher in the McMinnville School district and he is attending the Linfield-Good Samaritan School of nursing. Claire Oliver ’10 of new York City received a master’s in journalism from new York University in december and works as a content editor for Zagat at Google in new York City.
