’ c a t t r a c k s Mimi Seeley ’14 Hometown: Redmond Major: Psychology Why Linfield: “When I visited campus, I met some of the cross country team and I found everyone to be very inviting. I also agreed with coach Greg Mitchell's running and coaching philosophy.” Favorite aspect of Linfield: “The ‘community’ feel. The school is small enough that you can get to know a lot of students and professors really well.” Balancing sport and academics: “Every night I think about what I need to get done the following day, then put those tasks into blocks of time to make sure I can accomplish it all. It’s a matter of learning what you can say yes to and when you need to just buckle down and get stuff done.” Favorite achievement: Outstanding runner in both cross country and track; Academic All-American. Inspiration: “My mom is one of my greatest role models. She is a runner herself and is very supportive of all that I do.” Learned from college athletics: “Athletics has helped me to deal with adversity and taught me what it means to be committed to something.” Advice for student athletes: “Athletics take a lot of time and energy so make sure you really love what you are doing.” Future plans: “Attend graduate school and hopefully continue to run there. Professionally, I would like to go into social work, write a psychology journal and focus on helping young women develop positive self images.” Linfi honors diverse eld group of athletes Eight former athletes were inducted into the Linfield Athletics Hall of Fame Saturday, Nov. 10, following the Linfield- Pacific football game.
