Only pet-friendly residence hall in Oregon coming to Linfield

A student walks a cat on a leashSoon, a Linfield College student’s checklist for his or her on-campus room might read: bedding, headphones, laptop, a backpack — and Fluffy.  

In the fall of 2019, Linfield College will designate the Jane Failing residence hall as “pet-friendly” and students can apply to bring their pet to campus. This makes Linfield College one of only a few colleges nationwide, and the only one in Oregon, to allow many types of pets — not just fish and small caged animals — in a residence hall.  Continue reading

Seth F. Wollam is Linfield College’s Marching Band Director 

Seth WollamLinfield College has announced that it has hired Seth F. Wollam as its inaugural marching band director. He will start full-time in August 2018. 

Wollam is an 18-year veteran of music education and band leadership. He is currently in his fourth year as the Director of Bands at Lock Haven University in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. While at Lock Haven, Wollam led and conducted the athletic and concert bands and community orchestra, as well as taught applied saxophone clarinet, and percussion, as well as individual advanced music studies in marching band techniques, music history and introduction to music.  Continue reading
