Linfield Theatre presents ‘Night of the Living Dead’ 

Night of the Living DeadThe Linfield College Theatre Program kicks off its 99th season of plays with the zombie story, “Night of the Living Dead.”  

The play, Lori Allen Ohm’s stage adaption of George Romero and John Russo’s 1968 film of the same name, has seven people trapped in a farmhouse attempting to defend themselves from a growing onslaught of zombies. The pressure of the situation reveals the best and worst of human nature. The film was revolutionary in its aesthetics, representation of race and role in launching the $5 billion-a-year zombie industry. The production links the monstrous to racial oppression in the United States and examines what has — and hasn’t — changed since the Civil Rights Movement.   Continue reading
