Faculty recital features works by Hummel and Copland 

Abigail SperlingAbigail Sperling, instructor of flute at Linfield College, will present “Watercolors,” a faculty recital at Linfield, featuring music from Hummel, Gaubert and Copland. The recital will be held Thursday, Feb. 28, at 7 p.m. in the Delkin Recital Hall at the Vivian A. Bull Music Center. 

Guest musicians include Victoria Wolff-Zevallos on cello and Susan McDaniel on piano. Works include J. N. Hummel’s Trio Op. 78 and Philipe Gaubert’s Trois AquarellesDuo by Aaron Copland for flute and piano, and the solo work Circumambulation by Yan Maresz, will also be performed.  Continue reading

Faculty recital features works by Bolcom and Glass 

Johnandrew SlominskiJohnandrew Slominski, assistant professor of music at Linfield College, will celebrate the work of two newly-minted octogenarians at his solo piano recital.   

Slominski will perform work from American composers William Bolcom and Philip Glass. Additionally, Slominski will perform the works of Johannes Brahms, Franz Liszt and Mozart. The recital will be held Friday, September 14 at 7 p.m. in the Richard and Lucille Ice Auditorium in Melrose Hall on campus.
