Russian art songs topic of faculty lecture at Linfield 

Anton BelovAnton Belov will discuss 19th-century Russian art songs in an upcoming Linfield College faculty lecture. 

Belov, associate professor of music, will present “Romanticism, exoticism,
nationalism and revolution as reflected in the Russian art song of the 19th century” on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. in the Richard and Lucille Ice Auditorium in Melrose Hall on campus.   Continue reading

Linfield music students to perform traditional liederabend 

LiederabendWorks of romantic composers will be performed in an intimate setting when Linfield College hosts a traditional musical liederabend.  

Students will perform the liederabend on Thursday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m. in the lobby of the Vivian A. Bull Music Center at Linfield.

Aquilon Music Festival to launch this summer at Linfield College

Aquilon Music FestivalThe Aquilon Music Festival, an intensive three-week young artist program, will launch this summer with the first modern-era production of the opera parody “La Chûte de Phaëton.” 

The festival, based at the Linfield College McMinnville campus, will be held July 1-22. It will feature two full-staged opera productions—”La Chûte de Phaëton” and two performances of Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro.”

Faculty recital to feature Belov and Penn
