Linfield student choirs present “Resistance, Revolution, and Renewal”

Linfield College ChoirLinfield College student choirs will perform music from hit Broadway musicals and well-known composers.

“Resistance, Revolution, and Renewal” will explore this year’s Program for Liberal Arts and Civic Engagement (PLACE) theme of “Revolutions” and will connect resistance and revolution in the face of war, oppression and injustice.  The Fall Choir Concert will take place on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 4 p.m. in Richard and Lucille Ice Auditorium at Linfield College.

Linfield College to present spring choir concert 

Linfield College ChoirThe Linfield College Concert Choir, Women’s Vocal Ensemble and Wildcat Men’s Glee Club will come together to present a spring choir concert. The three groups, under the direction of Anna Song, associate professor of music and director of choral activities at Linfield, will present “We Are One” on Sunday, May 13, at 4 p.m. in the Richard and Lucille Ice Auditorium in Melrose Hall at Linfield.   Continue reading

Linfield College choir to perform homecoming concert 

Linfield College ChoirThe Linfield College Concert Choir will cap its 2018 tour of southern California with a homecoming concert. 

The Choir Tour Homecoming Concert will be held Saturday, Feb. 17, at 7 p.m. in the Richard and Lucille Ice Auditorium in Melrose Hall at Linfield. The concert is free and open to the public.

Elizabeth Margulis to lecture on using science to think about music

Elizabeth MargulisAn upcoming lecture will explore the bridge between music, science and psychology. 

Elizabeth Margulis, a professor and director of the music cognition lab at the University of Arkansas, will present “Using Science to Think About Music” on Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 8 p.m. in the Delkin Recital Hall in the Vivian A. Bull Music Center at Linfield College.
