Led by the Office of Career Development, students toured two McMinnville businesses – Betty Lou’s and World Class Technology. Betty Lou’s is a local food manufacturer that creates healthy and natural products, and World Class Technology is a metal injection molding company.
“This event is aimed at giving students an inside look into local manufacturing businesses, connect students with professionals in the field and reveal real-life job possibilities for those students interested in science, technology and engineering,” explained Kristi Mackay, assistant director of internship programming.
The group was hosted at both locations by a company leader, who provided information about what the students were seeing. Students were also able to walk through the production floors and see the manufacturing process first-hand. They were able to talk with employees about their careers and learn, in some cases, about potential internship or work opportunities locally.
