Best-selling author R.O. Kwon will read her work Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 5 p.m. in the Nicholson Library at Linfield College as part of the Readings at the Nick series.
Kwon’s debut novel, “The Incendiaries,” focuses on the dynamic of religion, violence and love through the perspectives of two college students attending an American university. Her book was named a Most Anticipated Book of 2018 by the New York Times, Entertainment Weekly, Elle, Time, Parade, Vanity Fair, Cosmopolitan, Esquire, PBS, Vulture, BuzzFeed, BookRiot and the BBC.
Kwon was born in Seoul, South Korea but raised in Los Angeles. She received her bachelor’s degree from Yale University and her master’s degree from Brooklyn College. Her writing has also appeared in The Guardian, Vice, BuzzFeed, Noon, Time, Electric Literature, Playboy, San Francisco Chronicle and elsewhere.
