Zippia, a California-based website helping people find employment, recently released its list of the 10 best colleges in Oregon for job placement following graduation in 2019, and Linfield came out on top.
Using the U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard Data, Zippia scanned for colleges in Oregon offering at least a bachelor’s degree with the highest listed job placement ratings, focusing on employment levels a decade after students have graduated. Each college was then ranked from best to worst by percentage of graduates with jobs.
In fact, Linfield College was No. 1 – and No. 2. The School of Nursing and the McMinnville campus took the top spots, each earning a 92.58% employment rate. The rankings are an improvement from last year, when Linfield was listed third and fourth.
Members of Linfield’s Office for Career Development work with students throughout their years at Linfield.
“At Linfield, the job search process is a journey that begins the day students set foot on campus,” says Michael Hampton, director of career development. “We integrate their interests with specific learning in their majors and connect them to experiential opportunities so that they are workforce ready when they leave Linfield.”
Previously, U.S. News and World Report listed Linfield atop its Pacific Northwest liberal arts colleges ranking for “Best Ethnic Diversity,” as well as No. 2 among its peers in social mobility.
