Student composers will present original fixed media work during the show “Music and the technological revolution: New work from the Linfield composers studio” on Wednesday, May 15, at 3 p.m. in the Vivian A. Bull Music Center lobby at Linfield College.
The pieces being presented were composed within a digital environment and explore computer-based techniques. Student composers include Sabine Ganezer, Ashley Sellers, Blake Thomas, Preston Turner and Keelan Wells; the instructor is Andrea Reinkemeyer, assistant professor of music composition and theory at Linfield.
Students in the music and technology course are given an opportunity to utilize the music technology lab to learn about the emerging impact of technological developments in today’s artistic climate.
