The start of another academic year is approaching quickly. Fall classes begin Monday, orientation and athletics are already in full swing, and a refreshing energy is palpable on both of our campuses. The Linfield University-Good Samaritan School of Nursing honors its newest graduating class in its inaugural Hooding and Pinning Ceremony at 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20. At 4:45 p.m. on Friday, blue skies finally broke through the gray and windy conditions, shining a much-deserved light on Linfield’s newest nurses. Through figurative and literal storms, the Linfield University-Good Samaritan School of Nursing‘s Class of 2021 completed their nursing education at a time unlike any other. And, they were celebrated just as uniquely with a combination of virtual and in-person events, May 20-22. Continue reading
The Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Sigma) announced plans to induct Linfield University’s Kim Dupree Jones into the International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame at the organization’s annual congress in July 2021. Jones is one of only 20 world-renowned nurse researchers — representing Australia, Canada, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and the United States — who will be recognized for improving the profession of nursing and the people it serves.
As of Friday, Feb. 26, both counties in which Linfield operates – Multnomah and Yamhill – move to the “High Risk” category of the State of Oregon’s county risk levels. This is the first time since the risk levels were implemented in December 2020 that both locations will be in the “High Risk” instead of “Extreme Risk” category. These risk levels will be in place from Feb. 26 to March 11.
With this change, certain restrictions on Linfield’s campuses will be modified.
