School of Nursing recognizes the Class of 2021

Through figurative and literal storms, the Linfield University-Good Samaritan School of Nursing‘s Class of 2021 completed their nursing education at a time unlike any other. Kim Dupree Jones to be inducted into Sigma 2021 International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame

Portrait of Kim JonesThe Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Sigma) announced plans to induct Linfield University’s Kim Dupree Jones into the International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame at the organization’s annual congress in July 2021. Jones is one of only 20 world-renowned nurse researchers — representing Australia, Canada, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and the United States — who will be recognized for improving the profession of nursing and the people it serves.

Impact of “High Risk” guidelines on Linfield’s campuses

Linfield University banner on campusAs of Friday, Feb. 26, both counties in which Linfield operates – Multnomah and Yamhill – move to the “High Risk” category of the State of Oregon’s county risk levels. This is the first time since the risk levels were implemented in December 2020 that both locations will be in the “High Risk” instead of “Extreme Risk” category. These risk levels will be in place from Feb. 26 to March 11.

With this change, certain restrictions on Linfield’s campuses will be modified.

Elizabeth StrausElizabeth Straus, visiting assistant professor of nursing at Linfield University, will present “Disability and the COVID-19 Pandemic” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17.
