Email - Mobile Devices

The following information can be used to configure smartphones or iPads.  This information is provided with the understanding that you assume full responsibility for this and that ITS may be unable to assist you.

To configure an Exchange compatible device such as a smartphone or an iPad:

Find the email account settings menu of your device. If you are unsure where this is located, access the website for the specific manufacturer of your device.

Select Microsoft Exchange as the account type, and enter the following information when prompted:

  • Server: mail.linfield.edu
  • Domain: catnet
  • Security: Use SSL to connect
For a device without the option to add a Microsoft Exchange account, you can enter the following information:
  • Incoming Server: mail.linfield.edu
  • Outgoing Server: smtp.linfield.edu
  • Domain: catnet
  • Security: This server requires an encrypted (SSL) connection

Allow time for the device to synchronize with the Linfield Exchange Server (which may take several minutes).

ITS can provide some configuration support for Linfield owned cell phones/smartphones.

ITS may not be able to assist depending on the device model.
