2015-16 Linfield Fund Midyear Report
What makes the Linfield community unique? Wildcats new and old, from backgrounds that stretch across oceans, make their home here. The small class sizes and exceptional faculty and staff all contribute. But it’s also the sense of community, the Linfield hello, homecoming gatherings, and the network of generous donors – that contribute so much to our college. It is donors like you that make our Linfield community what it is by fostering students who are empowered and engaged to serve.
“My favorite thing about Linfield is that I feel like a member of the family. The professors are so approachable and care about my success. Because of this, I already feel connected to Linfield and want to give back by serving others and serving the school.” Anh Vo ’19, Accounting Major, from Sai Gon, Vietnam.
Anh, Sarah and Carter (pictured above), are freshmen students and phonathon callers, who share a love for the Linfield community. Each of them quickly adapted to their studies as a result of the 12 to 1 student-faculty ratio which provides a close-knit learning environment and personalized education.
“I really appreciate donations from alumni, family and friends because they provide opportunities for an amazing liberal arts education. Like me, I have friends who receive scholarships to attend our dream school. Without those donors, we would not be here.” Sarah Snyder ’19, Psychology Major, from Lakewood, Washington.
The Linfield Phonathon team reaches nearly 19,000 alumni, parents and friends each year. As a result of those conversations you contribute to:
- The Linfield Fund which provides resources to subsidize costs and keep tuition affordable;
- Over 57 student organizations that enhance students’ experiences;
- Funds that bring stimulating speakers to campus to share their perspective on current issues;
- Athletics, Theater, Music, and many other co-curricular activities;
- Scholarships, Faculty support, Study Abroad opportunities;
…and so much more!
“I enjoy working for the phonathon team because Linfield has already done so much for me and the money we raise continues to support current students like me and future students too. I look forward to each calling shift.” Carter Mensing ’19, Business Management Major, from West Seattle, Washington.
The stories of these three first year students are replicated over and over by hundreds of Linfield students. Your gifts help make it possible. Thank you for supporting the Power of a Small College!
