HEALTH DISPARITIES AMONG VULNERABLE POPULATIONS AND HEALTHCARE PRACTICE

Course Number: NURS-343

Course Description: Focus on culture and socio-economic status (SES) as context influencing health of various social, ethnic, cultural, and other vulnerable groups. Exploration of influences that dictate access to and use of health care resources, and that add to health disparities. Students encouraged to examine their own cultural heritage and life trajectories to build basis for understanding those of others. Offered summer. 3 credits.
