Online College Certificate Programs

Intent to Complete Certificate

What is a Certificate?

A Certificate is a short term credential that provides professional recognition of your knowledge and skills in a given specialty. The earning of a certificate demonstrates a commitment on your part to standards established by Linfield College. Each certificate program consists of a minimum of 16 credits.

Who are the Certificate Programs designed for?

The Certificate Programs are designed for adults who want to be competitive in today’s knowledge–driven economy where high demand, well paying occupations depend on an educated workforce. The Certificate program provides continuing education that enables you to build your career and obtain advancement through your knowledge and experience.

You may complete any of Linfield's online certificates separately from the bachelor's degrees. If you are earning a bachelor's degree in the Online and Continuing Education Program, you may work on completing both degree and certificate at the same time, and earn two credentials. One course may be used to meet both certificate and major requirements.

The Post Baccalaureate Accounting Certificate is open only to students who have completed a bachelor's degree.

If you want to advance your career, and have earned a bachelor's or master's degree previously, achieving a certificate in one of these high employment areas provides a career pathway to building a specialization in Post Baccalaureate Accounting, Coaching, Cyber Security, Database Administration, Global Health, Health Administration, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Software Engineering, Web Application Development, Wine Marketing, or Yoga Instructor.

Due to the similarity of courses in the Human Resource Management certificate and Management major, and the similarity of courses in the Marketing certificate and the Marketing major, students must choose either the certificate or the degree in these fields of study.

Is Financial Aid available for Certificate Programs?

Financial aid is available to eligible certificate-seeking students in the Online and Continuing Education Program. Most financial aid awards require that you are registered for 6 credits in the semester when you receive the funds. Take time to browse the many financial aid resources on various topics or contact our financial aid staff. We are here to help you with financing your education.
