Linfield College offers assistance for Concordia University-Portland students

The closing of Concordia University-Portland, a 115-year-old institution of higher learning, represents a heart-wrenching loss for its students, faculty, staff and alumni. We are all lessened by it, and share in the loss.

Linfield’s faculty and staff are ready to support Concordia University-Portland students as they complete their education. Our admission counselors are ready and available to discuss your options with you and make a transfer process as seamless as possible.

McMinnville campus programs

With nearly 50 academic programs, Linfield's McMinnville campus offers a traditional residential community in the heart of the Willamette Valley. Just 35 miles from Portland, students take advantage of opportunities in faculty-collaborative research, internships, community and service learning projects, the performing arts, 19 competitive NCAA Division III athletic programs and more. Students interested in pursuing nursing at the Linfield-Good Samaritan School of Nursing can complete their prerequisite courses before continuing to our campus in Portland for their final two years.

  • Concordia University-Portland students currently enrolled in the 2019-20 academic year or committed to enroll in the 2020-21 academic year will receive a $16,500 minimum renewable award for full-time enrollment at Linfield’s McMinnville campus
  • There is no application fee to submit the Common Application to Linfield
    • Students who will graduate from high school this spring and were planning to enroll as first-time college students should submit the first-year Common Application, and you can review additional information about the application process. Our priority deadline has passed, but we continue to accept applications and would encourage you to submit within the next two weeks.
    • Students who are enrolled currently at Concordia University-Portland should submit the transfer version of the Common Application. Our priority deadline for fall entry is April 15th.

Portland campus programs

The Linfield Good Samaritan School of Nursing is one of the largest and oldest in the Pacific Northwest. Nursing education, state and national accreditation and licensing requirements are complex. We are working to determine what options Linfield can provide students currently enrolled in Concordia University-Portland’s nursing programs, including the accelerated BSN.

The deadline for Linfield's next accelerated BSN (beginning summer 2020) and BSN (fall 2020) have passed and are not expected to re-open at this time.

Students interested in applying for either option, or for transfer to the School of Nursing should complete our online inquiry form. Once we have determined the options we can provide you, or any changes to our application, we will notify you accordingly.
