All CPS staff are certified as private security providers by the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) of Oregon.

Dennis Marks

Director of College Public Safety

Dennis Marks joined Linfield College in January of 2018.  His previous experience includes 6 years in the United States Marine Corps followed by 26 years with McMinnville Police Department.  He retired from the police department in 2017 at the rank of Captain.  He has a bachelor’s Degree in Management and Communications from Corban University in Salem and is an adjunct instructor for Criminal Justice with Chemeketa Community College.

He is married and has eight children and ten grand-children. He enjoys outdoor activities, working with his church and community, and family activities.

Jason BickellJason Bickell
Senior Officer/Supervisor

Senior Officer Bickell has served with Linfield College since 1999. Prior to Linfield, he worked for the Marion County Sheriff's Office. He holds several instructor certifications for public safety and security. Officer Bickell has attended the Western Association of College Law Enforcement Administrators Academy and has instructed there since 2001. He holds an Executive Security Certificate from the Oregon Board of Public Safety Standards and Training. In addition to patrolling and answering calls for service, Officer Bickell is a member of the McMinnville/Yamhill County Threat Assessment Team, the Yamhill County Sexual Assault Response Team and provides oversight of DPSST certification for Linfield College Public Safety staff.  Officer Bickell has been voted in by the Directors of Public Safety at other Oregon College and University Public Safety Administrators Association.

Jose Curiel-MorelosJose Curiel-Morelos
Senior Officer/Supervisor

Senior Officer Curiel joined Linfield College in 2011. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Western Oregon University. Prior to serving with Linfield, Officer Curiel worked for Marion County Sheriff's Office. Officer Curiel is fluent in both English and Spanish. In addition to patrolling and answering calls for service, Jose serves on the President's Advisory Committee on Diversity and provides oversight of the training program for Linfield College Public Safety staff.

 

Mary Heite
Administrative Officer

Officer Heite joined Linfield College in 2013.  She has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice in addition to a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a focus in Administration.  Officer Heite has been working in private security since 2003.  Prior to working at Linfield, Officer Heite served as a Supervisor at a large shopping center.

Jerry Mitchell
Campus Safety Officer

Officer Mitchell joined Linfield College in 2012.  He graduated from Western Oregon University with a Bachelor of Science in Corrections and Social Sciences.  Prior to joining Linfield, Officer Mitchell served several years with the Oregon Youth Authority.

Marty Ransier
Campus Safety Officer

Officer Ransier has served with Linfield College since 2005. Prior to working at Linfield he served several years in the U.S. Army. In addition to patrolling and answering calls for service, Officer Ransier provides oversight of the Linfield College access control systems.

Erica Luke
Campus Safety Officer

Officer Luke has worked with Linfield College since 2018.  Erika has experience in law enforcement as a volunteer with the San Bernadino County Sheriff’s Office and has worked on an Organized Retail Crimes Investigations Team.  She has a degree in Criminal Justice from Victor Valley College.  She is a youth soccer coach and loves her yearly river trips to Lake Havasu with her family.

 

Christopher KrigbaumChristopher Krigbaum
Campus Safety On-Call Officer

Officer Krigbaum has worked with Linfield College since 2011, both as a full time and now as an On-Call officer. He has experience in law enforcement, and has a Bachelor's degree from Eastern Washington University where he is also an alumnus of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.

Doug CumminsDoug Cummins

Campus Safety On-Call Officer

Officer Cummins joined Linfield College in 2015 and is working temporarily part time to work on Linfield Emergency Management.  He retired from the McMinnville Police Department after 30 years of service.  Officer Cummins has expertise in emergency management and preparedness and is a volunteer with the McMinnville Fire Department.
