Lacroute Arts Series at Linfield College

Sponsored by the Lacroute Arts Fund

The Lacroute Arts Fund at Linfield College supports the Departments of Art, Music, and Theatre and Communication Arts in their efforts to produce and present arts events for the Linfield and McMinnville communities. In so doing the program contributes to the artistic life of students, faculty and community members by providing quality arts experiences featuring distinguished visiting artists.



Jerry Goralnick of New York's Living Theatre works with Linfield students to create We Are But One Thread, a devised work inspired by the 2015-16 Linfield PLACE theme, "Air, Water, Earth, and Fire: The ancient Elements on a Changing Planet."  September 2015

Marshall Theatre in Ford Hall

Linfield Theatre Program's opening production features the world premiere of Simulation by Carrie Vaughn, author of twenty novels and eighty short stories. She has appeared repeatedly on the New York Times bestseller list. The play, commissioned with the support of the Lacroute Arts Series, examines Linfield's 2016-2017 PLACE theme—the Digital Self. The playwright will appear in Act 3 each evening. Performance dates are Thursday, Sept. 22, Friday, Sept. 23, and Saturday, Sept. 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the Marshall Theatre in Ford Hall.

Linfield Gallery presents a new exhibition of recent work by Wendy Red Star and Kaj-anne Pepper. Through textiles, video, performance and installation, the exhibition explores how identity is performed.

The exhibition is sponsored by the Lacroute Art Series and the Department of Art. Additional support comes from the Yamhill County Cultural Coalition, which includes funding from the Oregon Cultural Trust and the Oregon Community Foundation.

Featuring the World Premiere of
"When Justice Reigns" by Andrea Reinkemeyer

The Department of Music presents the Fall Choir Concert featuring the world preimere of "When Justice Reigns" by composer and assistant professor of music Andrea Reinkemeyer. Using text by Janine Applegate, the work was commissioned by the Department of Music and the Lacroute Arts Series.
