The Linfield Fine Art Gallery will feature sculptures by David Corbett Oct. 18 through Nov. 20. His work shows the process of planning and constructing buildings. A reception will be held for the artist on Wednesday, Oct. 20, from 6-8 p.m. in the gallery.
Corbett has exhibited in many venues and has created an impressive body of work along the way. "Change Makes it New" was his most recent solo show in 2009 at Chicago's 65GRAND. There, Corbett introduced his new sculptural aesthetic, wooden crystalline figures saturated in enamel paint. Similar figures appeared earlier this year in "Portland 2010: A Biennial of Contemporary Art" and in "The Quadratic Logogram of Almost Everything" at Half/dozen in Portland.
