Mountainside High School
What are you doing now?
Principal at Mountainside High School, the newest high school in the Beaverton School District.
Tell us about yourself.
My wife Bridget and I live in Sherwood with our three children: a senior, a freshmen, and a 6th grader. From Linfield I began teaching 7th grade English at Whitford Middle School. I was fortunate to be selected to the Southridge High School planning team as a teacher. I taught and coached for three years at Southridge before I moved into an assistant principal role for five years. I moved to Sunset High School for three years and then returned to Southridge as principal from 2010-2016. I was then named the planning principal for Mountainside for 2016-17, and we just opened our doors in September 2017.
How did Linfield help prepare you for your career?
The small school setting of Linfield allowed me to forge long-lasting friendships and connections with fellow students and professors. Playing football at LInfield for great men like Coach Rutschman and Coach Langsdorf taught me character and skills that I use each day. I am very proud of my Linfield experience and have had multiple opportunities to tout Linfield's preparation for me...especially to my Willamette friends!
