Alumni Awards

Alumni award recipientsDo you know an alumnus/alumna or community member who has shown dedication, not only to Linfield, but also in a particular field of endeavor?

Each year Linfield awards five such committed individuals for their hard work, innovation and generosity of spirit. To nominate a candidate, please review all eligibility requirements and fill out the nomination form below as completely as possible. The Alumni Awards Committee will review each submission for selection.


Linfield University Alumni Service Award

Purpose:

To recognize Linfield University alumni who have made significant volunteer contributions to the university.

Eligibility:

  • A Linfield University alumnus/alumna who performs extraordinary and admirable volunteer service to Linfield University.
  • An alumnus/alumna who has demonstrated pride in their alma mater, and whose interests in and loyalty to Linfield University are evident.
  • Current members of the Alumni Leadership Council, current Linfield University employees and current members of the Linfield University Board of Trustees are not eligible to receive this award.
  • Exceptions to these eligibility guidelines may be made by a majority vote of the Alumni Leadership Council as deemed appropriate for individual nominee consideration.

Alumni Service Award Nomination Form

Linfield University Distinguished Alumna/Alumnus Award

Purpose:

This award recognizes and honors Linfield University alumni whose professional or civic achievements mark them as a top leader in their chosen field of endeavor.

Eligibility:

  • A B.A., B.S., B.S.N. or M.Ed. graduate of Linfield University who received their degree at least 15 years ago.
  • Current members of the Alumni Leadership Council, current Linfield University employees and current members of the Linfield University Board of Trustees are not eligible to receive this award.
  • Exceptions to these eligibility guidelines may be made by a majority vote of the Alumni Leadership Council as deemed appropriate for individual nominee consideration.

Distinguished Service Award Nomination Form

Walker Service Award

Purpose:

The purpose of this award is to recognize and honor members of the greater Linfield University community who are not alumni, but who have contributed significant volunteer time and energy to the university.

Eligibility:

  • Because the intent of this award is to recognize those who are not alumni or former students, members of the Linfield University Alumni Association are not eligible for the award.
  • Current Linfield University employees and current members of the Linfield University Board of Trustees are not eligible to receive this award.
  • This award is not necessarily awarded every year.
  • Exceptions to these eligibility guidelines may be made by a majority vote of the Alumni Leadership Council as deemed appropriate for individual nominee consideration.

Walker Service Award Nomination Form

Linfield University Young Alumna/Alumnus Award

Purpose:

This award recognizes and honors a recent Linfield University alumni who has distinguished themselves by making outstanding contributions in their chosen field. The award shall further serve to make alumni more aware of the achievements of young Linfield alumni and thereby increase everyone’s pride in the university.

Eligibility:

  • A B.A., B.S., B.S.N. or M.Ed. graduate of Linfield University who received their degree no more than 15 years ago.
  • Current members of the Alumni Leadership Council, current Linfield University employees and current members of the Linfield University Board of Trustees are not eligible to receive this award.
  • Exceptions to these eligibility guidelines may be made by a majority vote of the Alumni Leadership Council as deemed appropriate for individual nominee consideration.

Young Alumna Nomination Form

Distinguished Nursing Alumna/Alumnus Award

Purpose:

To recognize a practicing or retired nurse who exemplifies nursing excellence. Candidates for the award should demonstrate innovation and dedication as well as provide outstanding contributions to the field.

Eligibility:

  • The individual nominated must be a practicing or retired nurse and alumni of Linfield-Good Samaritan School of Nursing or Good Samaritan Hospital and Medical Center School of Nursing.

Awarding group:

Nursing committee whose chair is a faculty member of Linfield's School of Nursing
