Linfield College Hawai'i Club Lū'au & Hō'ike
The student performances and authentic Hawaiian plate dinner continue to be campus and community favorites each year. The Lu'au features dances from the Hawaiian Islands as well as New Zealand, Tahiti, and Samoa.
The event features dinner and a show. Dinner is catered from a Hawaiian Cafe who specializes in making authentic Hawaiian food and the show is put on by Linfield students, both from Hawaii and not, who will dance hula, play Hawaiian music, and share the Hawaiian culture with you.
In the meantime, be sure to follow @Linfield.HawaiiClub on Instagram for updates, inspiration, and to learn about Hawai'i culture.
The 2020 Lū'au & Hō'ike has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled.
In light of the recent announcements made by Linfield College concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, we as co-chairs have made the difficult decision to cancel Lū’au and Hō’ike 2020.
The safety and wellness of everyone is of the utmost importance to us, yet we are heartbroken over this decision. We know the amount of time, sacrifice, money, and energy that everyone has spent (and was planning to spend) on this event, and that has not gone unnoticed by us. We are truly thankful.
Despite this unfortunate circumstance, this time also calls for reflection on how grateful we are to have been a part of such an amazing event. We do not look at this as wasted time, rather, as an opportunity that we got to forge new friendships, and really learn from one another. That is what makes Lū’au and Hō’ike so special.
