Linfield College

Academic Affairs Weekly

Volume 5, Issue 3 – August 29, 2017

I cannot improve upon Dr. Hellie’s message from yesterday morning. His email beautifully addressed the state of higher education in America, and Linfield’s wishes for the coming year.

The first day of classes in McMinnville and Portland are behind us, and we in Academic Affairs hope you and your students are enjoying the freshly-sharpened-pencil atmosphere on campus.

At our staff meeting yesterday, we began discussing the collegewide projects for the 2017-18 academic year. It’s going to be a busy one, and we’re looking forward to collaborating with you on comprehensive enrollment planning, accreditation preparation, and the presidential search.

As always, please email us – or better yet, stop by Melrose 201 to chat – if there is anything on your mind.

Learning Support Services Reminder

Learning Support Services (LSS) continues to use LSS Online Services, the web application and database that allows students with disabilities to request and manage accommodations online. Please be aware that emails regarding accommodations, testing notifications and notetakers will be sent from FAQs can be found here.

Please contact Cheri White at with any questions.

Block Schedule Copies Available

If you would like a copy of the block schedule, or just want to know the best time to go to Starbucks, you can find it on the Faculty Forms webpage. Hard copies are available in Academic Affairs.

Promotion and Tenure File Dates

As a reminder, following a successful pilot run of electronic files in Fall 2016, we are using electronic files in Blackboard for all P&T candidates in Fall 2017. Please refer to the P&T eFile Preparation Instructions 2017 (emailed May 15, August 22 or 24, and posted on the Promotion and Tenure webpage) for details regarding the eFile.
