Rob Urbinati, author of Linfield Theatre's upcoming production of West Moon Street, will discuss the writing of the play this evening, February 24th, from 5:30 -6:30 p.m. in the lobby of Ford Hall on the Linfield College campus.
Urbinati, a playwright and theatre director based in New York City, is the Director of New Play Development at the Queens Theatre in the Park. There he focuses on the Immigrant Voices Project, a year-round program that develops new plays reflecting the diverse demographics of New York City.
Urbinati is on campus this week to present a series of lectures and workshops and to work with the cast of West Moon Street. Other public events include a reading of Dr. Uribinati’s new play, “Death By Design” at 4 p.m. Saturday, February 26, also in the lobby of Ford Hall. Commissioned by the Houston Family Arts Center and scheduled for its world premier in September of 2011, the play asks the question: What happens when you mix Noel Coward and Agatha Christie in an English country manor in 1931? This mix of Coward’s style with Christie’s plot devices results in a hilarious murder mystery with multiple suspects.
