Internships

Internships are a great way for Theatre and Communication Arts majors to explore their interests and work for real, often prestigious, organizations before graduation. Students have the option to earn credit for their internships through the TACA 487: Capstone Internship course.

Theatre students complete internships in production and performing. For example, some of our majors have interned at:

  • >New York Public Library (Billy Rose Theatre Division)
  • >Oregon Shakespeare Festival
  • >Pacific Conservatory of Performing Arts
  • >Portland Center Stage
  • >Santa Fe Opera (Stagehand)
  • >Willamette Shakespeare Festival (Costume Design Intern)

On the other hand, Communication Arts students intern in the areas of intercultural, interpersonal, political, organizational and public communication. Examples of past internships include:

  • >Advocates for the West, a nonprofit law firm focused on environmental law and conservation
  • >Billings Outlaws (Public Relations Intern)
  • >Clear Channel Communications
  • >Miami Dolphins (Community Relations Intern)
