Linfield students, faculty, staff and administrators consistently demonstrate a strong commitment to sustainability both on and off campus. Linfield’s sustainability effort may be seen in many ways including student projects and initiatives as well as conservation efforts taken on by the administrative body of the college. The Linfield community is continually initiating new projects and activities related to sustainability.
Linfield College is dedicated to sustainable eating practices from eating local and organic foods in our dining hall to supporting the student-run Community Garden.
Water conservation is becoming increasingly important in the global community. Linfield has initiated a number of water conservation projects, acknowledging our place as global citizens.
Energy efficiency and conservation has been a large focus for Linfield over the past 10 years. Reducing the energy demand on our campus is a critical piece of sustainability.
Thanks to a joint effort between facilities staff, students and the local recycling company, Western Oregon Waste, Linfield has been actively reducing the amount of waste travelling to the landfill from our campus.
Both campus and community efforts have greatly decreased the need for a car on the Linfield campus.
