Meet Dan Lever
Class: SeniorMajor: Health Education/ Physical Education
Hometown: Canby, Ore.
Q: Why did you choose to come to Linfield?
Dan: I was actually hesitant because of the family connection. My Family has been involved with Linfield since 1930. Both my grandparents went here. They met here when my great grandpa was a coach here from 1930 to 1947. I kind of wanted to be a rebel, but once I came and visited and obviously the football program had a lot to do with it. I just decided this was it.
Q: How do you feel about the faculty?
Dan: I think the faculty is pretty unique. Almost all the professors I have had have been fair and honest, and interested in my education as much as I am. They’re good people.
Q: What makes or has made Linfield College a valuable experience for you?
Dan: For me, it’s just so intimate. Everywhere else you are a number. Any big college or university you’re a number and I feel like here I’m Dan Lever. You get to be your own person and have your own identity instead of being thrown into the large mass of 20,000, 30,000 people.
Dan: I think the hardest part is deciding where you’re going to go. But once you get here, don’t overload yourself your first semester. A lot of people do that. Be open to try new things and be ready to meet some friends that you may have for the rest of your life.
