Linfield Football Playoff History
Northwest Conference rivals Linfield and Pacific Lutheran have been rematched in the first round of the NCAA Division III playoffs. The full 32-team playoff field was announced Sunday afternoon by the NCAA.
The Wildcats and Lutes meet Saturday, Nov. 23, at noon at Linfield's Maxwell Field.
Ranked second in the d3football.com poll and third in the American Football Coaches Association poll, Linfield (9-0) qualified for the NCAA Division III playoffs for the fifth straight season. Pacific Lutheran (8-1), ranked 13th in both polls, is making its second NCAA playoff appearance since 2001.
Linfield earned its 37th Northwest Conference championship Saturday with a 28-22 victory over Pacific. PLU, whose only defeat in 2013 came in a 29-0 shutout to Linfield, placed second in the NWC with a 5-1 record.
The Wildcats are competing in the NCAA playoffs for the 10th time since 2000. Including NAIA playoffs, the ‘Cats are appearing in the postseason for the 25th time in program history.
Riding a 35-game regular-season winning streak dating to the 2010 season, Linfield completed an unbeaten regular season for third straight season, the ninth occasion since 2000, and 20th time in its history. The Wildcats advanced to the NCAA Division III quarterfinals last fall, losing 31-24 in overtime to Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
Linfield and PLU have played six times previously in the post season with each program winning three times. The two teams met in the first round of last season's NCAA playoffs at McMinnville where the Wildcats prevailed 27-24.
Other pairings on Linfield's corner of the bracket include Hampden-Sydney (Va.) vs. Maryville (Tenn.), Franklin (Ind.) vs. Washington-St. Louis (Mo.), and Wisconsin-Whitewater vs. St. Norbert (Wis.).

•Season ticket holders have first opportunity to confirm their seats starting Monday at 6 a.m. Season tickets not confirmed by 6 p.m. Tuesday will then made available for sale to the general public.
•Season ticket holders are solely responsible for confirming thier tickets by the deadline noted. Reminder phone calls will not be made.
•Season ticket holders requesting to purchase additional reserved seats must wait until general public sales begin Wednesday at noon.
•Reserved tickets for faculty, staff, students and retirees become available for purchase starting at 8 a.m. Wednesday. Those tickets must be purchased in person at the athletic department offices.
•Reserved tickets for the general public, including PLU fans, begin Wednesday at noon at linfield.edu/sports/tickets

•All covered reserved seats are $15, uncovered reserved tickets are $12 and adult general admission is $10.
•General admission for students are priced at $6 with a current college or high school ID card and sold day of the game only. Children under 3 are admitted free.
•All tickets purchased at the ticket booth on game day are sold on a cash-only basis. No checks or credit cards will be accepted.
•No complimentary tickets will be issued and Northwest Conference passes will not be honored.
•The game will be broadcast live on Portland radio station KPDQ TrueTalk AM 800 as well as McMinnville station KLYC (1260 AM).
•Internet users can hear the game simulcast at www.linfield.edu/sports.
•A live video feed is available free of charge through Linfield's customary Stretch Internet portal.
