SALEM, Ore. – With matching 25th-place efforts, Joe Gladow (Sr., Shoreline, Wash.) and Siena Noe (Sr., Yakima, Wash.) paced the Linfield men and women at the Willamette Charles Bowles Invitational Saturday afternoon at Bush's Pasture Park.
Both Wildcat teams placed 10th overall and fourth among programs from the Northwest Conference, totaling 269 and 285 points, respectively, on the men's and women's sides of the Cardinal race.
Gladow completed the 8,000-meter course in 25 minutes, 48.91 seconds, about 56 seconds behind the race winner. Calvin Howell (Jr., San Antonio, Texas) recorded another top-50 finish for the Wildcats with a 40th-place showing in 26:13.30.
Alex Mangan (Soph., Klamath Falls, Ore.) and Michael O'Neil were the 64th and 68th runners, respectively, to cross the finish line. Mangan clocked in at 26:40.20 while O'Neil came in at 26:48.64.
Adrian Clifford (Fr., Sequim, Wash.) rounded out the scoring on the Linfield men's side with a 90th-place showing in 27 minutes, 20.40 seconds.
Noe finished as the Wildcats' No. 1 runner for the first time this year, registering a time of 18 minutes, 52.12 seconds for the 5,000-meter women's race. Fellow senior Katie Skinner (Sr., Portland, Ore.) came in 13 places back in 19:11.41.
Marisa Kume (Fr., Nagoya, Japan) and Hannah Greider (Sr., Shoreline, Wash.) also came in among the top 75 runners overall. Kume was 70th (19:31.04) while Greider took 75th (19:35.94).
Linfield's fifth scoring runner was Madison Trowbridge (Jr., Portland, Ore.), who finished 116th in a time of 20 minutes, 17.54 seconds.
Alaska Anchorage won both sides of the meet after placing four runners apiece in the top 10. Anchorage's Dylan Anthony won the men's race in a time of 24:20.34 while Willamette's Michaela Freeby took the women's side (17:30.15).
