For the second straight season, Joe Gladow (Jr., Shoreline, Wash.) has earned recognition as a CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District VIII Men’s Track/Cross Country honoree, as announced Thursday by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America.

Gladow, a junior economics and international relations double major, has maintained a 3.93 cumulative grade point average. He is a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, a dean’s list mainstay and a Colloquium peer advisor. As part of the prestigious Kemper Scholarship program, he interned at the Chicago Mayor’s Office last summer and is slated to complete an internship with a non-profit organization this summer.

Though he missed the most recent track season to study abroad in Ecuador, in the fall Gladow became a two-time all-region performer in cross country, finishing 21st at the NCAA Division III West Region Cross Country Championships, and secured first team all-conference honors with a seventh-place effort at the Northwest Conference Championships.

The CoSIDA/Capital One All-America program program honors hundreds of deserving scholar-athletes each year. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his or her current institution and be nominated by his or her sports information director. First team all-district honorees move on to the national ballot.
